ESTABLISHMENT

     Department established in 2009. Civil engineering plays the important role in the development of urban and rural areas. This course aims at developing the students well in the fields like construction and designing of residential, industrial and commercial structures. Meanwhile we are conducting special courses in CADD, STADD PRO and REVIT.

FACULTY

     For the faculty in department of CIVIL, teaching is more passionate than profession. Our ultimate aim is, not only to create well educated students but also to train them to acquire awareness about the changing world of scenario in the field of CIVIL ENGINEERING.

The department has qualified faculty with varied experience in areas of Structural Engineering, Hydrology & Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Remote Sensing & GIS and Construction Management.

     The survey lab is equipped with all the latest survey equipments such as total station, auto level etc, To Conduct survey practical, we have enough area inside our college campus.

     Soil mechanics laboratory is well equipped with all equipments required for identification and classification of soils. The lab instruments are well seated over concrete beds for better observations of readings.

     Strength of Materials Laboratory is well-equipped with all equipments required to identify the properties of materials and its strength by means of Universal testing Machine with shear test attachment, Torsion testing machine, Compression testing machine 500 KN capacity

     The highway engineering laboratory is equipped with all the latest testing equipments to enable the students to have knowledge in the area of concrete and highway engineering. The Civil Engg. Department library has 639 books, 5 journals and 20 conference proceedings. It also has provision for keeping the project work records of the students.

RAT-2013

Our College Organised RAT-2013 a National level Conference for two days (15.02.13 & 16.02.13) twenty papers were presented under Civil Engineering. The delegates from various institutions from all over India presented their research work and innovations in various fields of Civil Engineering.

The department organized a one day National level Symposium AACE2K12. The delegates from various institutions from all over India presented their research work and innovations in various fields of Civil Engineering. Er. V.Leo Prakash Manager NTPC, Chief guest of the conference.

AACE 2K11

The department organized a one day National level Symposium AACE2K11 on 23.08.2013. Our Beloved Correspondent Mr.R.C. Udayakumar Inaugurated the civil department association AACE and Dr.Dhanalakshmi PhD, delivered the key note address.

SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS IN CIVIL ENGINEERING

The department organized one week staff development programme on “SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS IN CIVIL ENGINEERING” during June 21 to June 28, 2012..

STUDENT COMPETITIONS :

Our College won the District level Cricket Tournament Trophy held in JJ College of Engineering and Tehnology 12.02.2013 our student.M.Manikandan C.Chellamuthu V.Ragupathi and G,Kalishwaran are part of the college team.

T.Kolanchinathan and V.Kaviyarasan are in college kabbadi team which was eliminated in the semi final in last year district level competition.

STUDENT PROJECTS:

As per the University regulation, the UG students have to submit a project work in the final year. Four students form a group and each group is guided by an internal staff. The students are motivated and stream lined.
